Razer’s New Phantom White Collection: A Translucent Throwback for Modern Gamers
Razer has taken a nostalgic turn with its latest release — the Phantom White Collection, a lineup of gaming accessories that blends modern RGB aesthetics with a distinctly 90s translucent design.
The new series covers several of Razer’s most popular peripherals, including the BlackWidow V4 75% keyboard, Basilisk V3 Pro mouse, Barracuda X Chroma headset, Firefly V2 Pro RGB mousepad, and Kishi V3 mobile controller. All come dressed in clear, frosted housings that reveal the inner hardware while glowing softly under customizable RGB lighting.
Razer says the design takes inspiration from old-school translucent tech — think Game Boys and early iMacs — but reimagined for today’s RGB-driven setups. The result is a nostalgic yet futuristic look that stands out in the sea of matte black gaming gear.
Despite the visual refresh, performance specs remain the same as their standard models. That means no changes to switches, sensors, or connectivity. The BlackWidow V4 75%, for example, still offers Razer’s mechanical switches and per-key lighting control, while the Basilisk V3 Pro maintains its fast wireless response and high DPI sensor.
Pricing, however, does get a small bump. The translucent shells and limited-edition branding bring a slight premium — roughly $10 to $20 more depending on the accessory. For example, the BlackWidow V4 75% Phantom White retails around $200, compared to $180 for the standard model.
Razer isn’t stopping with white, either. The company teased an alternate Phantom Green variant that adds a tinted spin on the same transparent style. Both versions highlight Razer’s push toward aesthetics that double as décor — a trend catching on with gamers who want their setups to look as good as they perform.
Critics and fans alike have praised the move, noting that while it’s not a groundbreaking hardware upgrade, it’s a smart design play. “Gaming gear has become part of personal identity,” one early reviewer noted. “Razer understands that style sells just as much as specs.”
The Phantom White Collection is now available on Razer.com and through select retailers worldwide. Inventory appears limited, so those looking to refresh their setups with a nostalgic twist may want to act quickly.
Razer’s latest launch may not revolutionize performance, but it proves one thing: the brand still knows how to blend function with flair — and tap into nostalgia while doing it.
